Privacy
We use PostHog Cloud in the EU to understand how visitors use the site, which browsers return, and where people have trouble comparing domain prices. Analytics and session recording start when the page loads.
What analytics collects
Page visits, referring website domains, browser and device categories, filter choices, result counts, extensions and registrars you inspect, registrar clicks, CSV exports, and the status and duration of availability and popularity checks.
We also capture interactions such as clicks and form changes, and session replays showing page content, navigation, scrolling, and pointer movement. Replays are retained for 30 days. Input values and displayed domain ideas are masked before transmission. Query strings, full registrar search links, console logs, and network request bodies are excluded. Automatic error capture is disabled.
PostHog stores a randomly generated browser identifier in first-party cookies and local storage to connect visits over time. The analytics cookie is configured for up to one year; local storage remains until cleared. Session storage also supports recordings. A browser profile is not a known person’s name or email: different devices, private browsing, and cleared storage can appear as different visitors. PostHog processes browser and request metadata; the project is configured to discard stored IP addresses.
We honor your browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by disabling analytics. Ad blockers may also prevent analytics requests. Your row-density preference is stored locally so the table remembers your choice.
Domain checks and external links
Typing in Your project previews the name locally. Extension searches and price filters are sent to this server to query saved public prices; the project-name prefix is not included in these pricing requests. Choosing Check availability or Look up popularity sends the exact domain to this server and Cloudflare Registrar or Cloudflare Radar, respectively. Opening a registrar link sends the domain to that registrar. These explicit requests are separate from analytics.
Hosting providers process requests to operate the site; access logs may include requested URLs. PostHog privacy information describes its processing practices.
